You sure have a lot of questions

I used to work as Admin. Assistant. To tell you the truth it was not my dream job. I strongly disliked that I had to answer the phone every time it rang, and believe me it rang all the time, sometimes with 3-4 lines on hold, I was so busy....
Admin. Assistant has a lot of responsibilities. You have to maintain an in office calendar, you do all the faxes, copies, mail, shipping (if any), phone, ordering stuff, coffee, and after all these general duties there are some particular tasks you run depending on the company’s business. You are the person for everything. And the pay is not good too. Admin. Assistant is often a receptionist as well, so you have to be a front desk, always smiling, nice and willing to help.

To answer you question #11- What do you find most challenging about your job?

Well it is not a challenging job, no imagination involved. Maybe a challenge will be to manage 3 phone lines blinking, your boss at your desk who needs some very urgent printout, a courier talking to you and a coffee for the clients who are with your boss in the board room waiting. What will be your priority? If you survive that, then you’ll be fine.

Question #12 – You have to be fast and efficient, otherwise you won’t last long.

Question #16 – You can become an office manager.

Good luck
