Default Recent Grad from Alberta moving to BC

Heya

In about a month I graduate from my program in Engineer Design and Drafting at the Lethbridge College. However, I'm moving back to my hometown of Vancouver. I pretty much have everything covered for the move except a job (thats an issue, I know). In Lethbridge there arent alot of opportunities for technologists except in the agricultural field. Im more geared towards Civil Cad Technologist jobs, with some flexibility for architectural, piping, and mechanical. I've sent out around 200 resumes in the Vancouver area (including for postings that exceed my current years related work experience=0). So far nothing has come back. My questions are:
1.Is there usually a time when companies hire new grads?
2.What competition for work am I facing with BCIT grads?
3.Are they really needing employees in Metro Vancouver?

Phil

Right now is tough to find a job. Do you call recruiters? Did you post your resume online? You should try contacting recruiters as well as contacting HR departments of every company you are interested in to introduce yourself and make personal contact with someone. Then send them your resume and hopefully they will call you back.
