Default Unrelated interview questions

Has anyone been in a interview situation where the questions asked by the interviewer were totally unrelated to the position at hand based on the job description and your resume? I would like to hear peoples responses / experiences to this situation. Is this common interview practise in Canada?

No it is not. Probably the interviewer has never done interviews before or was just covering for someone else...Anyways I hope you found a better job.
