Default Toronto Game Developers, Game Architects

Permanent position

Candidate MUST HAVE high volume traffic sites ( WEBKINZ DOES 60,000 CLICKS PER SECOND!)

MUST HAVE EXP DEVELOPING REAL TIME CONCURRENT SYSTEMS

Database changes 40% daily lots of real time analysis..

50,000 players online at any time

Must know what it is like to work in a "start up" type of environment. Must have ability to manage upwards, have worked on projects that are highly transactional, and are concurrent in that they run real time. 60,000 clicks per second. Almost 6 million unique viewers in Dec. This architect must be able to understand the business and technical aspects of the entire online properties. They have to be able to communicate the "business value" to the non technical as well. Performance loads are all tied together, so they develop in java/php, flash, C++/csharp, Mysql, Mssql, Lamp. They really need a super star, as this type of candidate is either running a team, most likely a manager or director level, but in a smaller company and is technical. They difficulty with this candidate will be that they need to have and understand the discipline/ methodologies of software development, iterative processes, and buy in to the philosophy that quality comes from change, as they do not go live, until it is right.
