Default Sys Admin, DBA, Application Dev and HTML CSS Dev positions avail (Winnipeg)

Available Positions (all are based in Winnipeg Manitoba)

Are you good enough to join our team of ninjas, do you love the idea of working with emerging web technologies to enable online communities? The four positions we have available are for a a PHP MySQL Application Developer, a CSS/HTML Frontend Developer, a Sys-Admin and a DBA.

You must be comfortable working with, and troubleshooting in a high availability business critical environment and be the sort of person who likes to 'own' what you set up. Although we expect you to be legendary at what you do we're also happy to offer what we consider to be a fantastic work environment. We also have a commitment to paying people what they're worth.

LAMP Systems Administrator

Tipping Canoe is seeking a talented and reliable LAMP Systems Administrator. You must be a bright and talented self starter with 2+ years of experience in:

* rolling out and supporting LAMP environments,
* SMTP / IMAP systems
* load balancers (pound or equivalent)
* creating, backing up and troubleshooting MySQL instances
* proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting, including identifying problem scripts and queries designing and supporting a network infrastructure

DBA

Tipping Canoe is seeking a talented and reliable MySQL Database Administrator. You must be a bright and talented self starter with strong skills in:

* Query optimization and performance tuning
* Schema design and implementation
* Deployment and configuration
* Monitoring and troubleshooting MySql instances
* Replication
* Experience with data warehousing and data mining would be an asset

PHP MySQL Application Developer

Tipping Canoe is looking for a driven, bright spark to work on php, mysql applications development. We're not asking for specific experience—more a driven person. You'll be working on a large scale internet platform together with a team comprising DB, Applications and LAMP expertise.

Prior commercial experience would be great but don't let none stop you applying. If you stand out from the crowd we'll give you due attention.

HTML/CSS Web Developer

Tipping Canoe is looking for a skilled and passionately geeky front-end developer to work closely with our existing development ninjas. We offer an exciting yet casual work environment with a focus on using emerging web technologies to enable online communities.

The position requires a strong grasp of standards compliant HTML/CSS with extensive experience in cross-browser development and cutting edge code. Working knowledge of XSL and JS along with prior experience of working closely with development teams will be a definite asset.
