Default Confused please help!

Hi there

We are a couple living in NZ originally from the UK. My partner is a skilled flooring contractor and has been doing his job for 15+ years now. His trade involves flooring prep and vinyl installation, he can also do carpet.
Although he has a trade his job is not on the shortage list? So my question is what would be the best way to get to Canada, would he need a job offer or is there some other way I am missing when looking at the immigration page ( its quite confusing)
We had the same problem when we moved to NZ, after speaking with people in Canada I have been told floor layers are a dying trade and he would be welcomed with open arms so its very frustrating thats its not on the skilled list!!!
Any advice would be very welcome, thanks Rachel.
