Default U.K Oil worker looking to emigrate to Canada

Hi just a quick question,I work in the oil industry as a mechanic and my work takes me all over the world, I work offshore and in shifts of 14 days on and 14 days off, or 28 days on 28 days off. I am earning a very good wage at the moment and would like to move to canada however I would not need a job as I would probably lose money. So could I and my family still get a visa if my wife took a part time job in canada.
