I imagine it would be a little discouraging to keep writing in a blog everyday and still be making $0 after a year or so.

I agree. I"ve noticed in the past 3 years or so that employers and recruiters are really utilising email more so than phones.
I"m guessing this is due to it being cheaper.

I don"t have an email...
