Archaeological work in Canada?

Hello all.

I have worked as an archaeologist here in Ireland for over 3 years. I am now interested in working in Canada for a while. Is there a demand for archaeologists in Canada? Is there a particular region in Canada where I would be most likely to find work?

I gained my interest in working in Canada after listening to RTE radio, the Irish national broadcaster, who interviewed a Canadian offical. He said Canada is not reducing the amount of people they let in dispite the global recession. He said Canada needs such people due to the ageing population. Does this mean that jobs in general are reasonable plentifull in Canada?

Any response is much appreciated.

RTE radio was mistaken. We have growing unemployment too.
