important job desicion, advice would be appreciated!

Hi,
I am going through a little bit of a dilemma in regards to a potential future job. A little bit of my background:
- graduated 2 years ago with BBA finance
- gained some finance related internship type experience while at university - it was within the government and at the university
- worked for 1 year as an analyst abroad in london, england for a reputable financial organization, but had to leave due to work permit issues
-got back to canada, have been looking for a job for the past (almost) 3 months

Now my big dilemma is that i have an upcoming (second) interview for an international bank for a data related role i.e. dealing with financial data, but not analyzing it, more like checking its quality and monitoring it (in short). My career aspiration is to work as an analyst i.e. analyzing market trends etc. but at this point the job hunt hasn't been easy. well, if i do eventually get this job, Im thinking will i be pigeonholed to a data type role? I mean the job market is tough, but should I wait it out and keep on applying (so far not going well), or take the data job for now? im just afraid of getting stuck and pigeonholed and not being able to get a better job because my experience will be data related.
do you think its ok to start working but still keep looking for more suitable job and then quit?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im confused and confusing myself, but dont want to be silly and miss out on a job when the market is tough.

thank you for reading my jibberish :)

Keep applying for every job you think you can do and like. Update your resume regularly and don't give up. It may take more time now due to the recession but eventually the economy will rebound and you will be in a better position with more experience.
