Trying to Start Electrical Apprenticeship

Hello all,
I am trying to start an electrical apprenticeship, I have no experience in electrical and It has been really hard to find any good leads in my job hunt. I got a tip from somone to try telecomunication. Would starting off being a cable installer for a company like Telus or Shaw Cable be good expereince and seen as experience by electrical contractors.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Getting a company to sign you up as an apprentice is difficult. Any experience you can offer that remotely seems like electrical work will definitely help. Also any education in the field will help also. Try taking a night or weekend course on electrical theory at your local college. It may be the one thing that stands out on your resume over the other 50 people with no electrical experience applying for an apprenticeship.
